A Successful Guide to Career Advancement

In every company, there is competition. It is perfectly normal given any working environment so naturally, you will meet some people who are giving everything they can just so they could have that promotion.  But, how do you go about getting that, when everybody’s interested? It is a tough world and people rarely give way when career advancement is at stake. It is not something that you win in the lottery and it certainly is not something that can be done overnight.  You need to work hard and plan your strategy for that climb up in the ladder.

This could be one big show, and it’s up to you whether your intentions are good or not because in the end, people will judge you, so you need to be careful every step of the way and true to yourself. You have to want the promotion enough to be good and show kindness, respect and sincerity to everyone.

1. If you don’t know where to start, you can get a mentor to assist you all the way up. To have someone by your side who is experienced enough and can give you guidelines is the best way to go.  But remember that no matter what you do, be good and always do the right things. Doing the opposite will just ruin your chances not just now but in the future too. Your reputation will bring you to places, so again, be careful.

2. Talk to your boss - sit down and talk to your boss about your future plans. Offer suggestions and ideas when he is asking for your opinion. This will make him realize that you have more qualities than just the job you are assigned to perform in the office.

3. Be kind and helpful – always show respect and courtesy to others, this will simply show that you have concern for your colleagues at work. They will think of you as reliable and someone who can make good decisions.

4. Make no time for errors – do your job consistently well to the best that you can so your boss will know that you are hard-working and don’t need to be supervised. You will earn his respect and he will think of you as a very reliable and responsible employee.

5. Take up short courses – while working, why not take up additional courses that will train you to become more effective in your career or perhaps in another job related to the one you have right now. This will show your boss that you are ready for a new position and that you seek more knowledge to be really good in your craft. This will help your credentials look strong with your hands on experiences put together.

Be patient and just continue to be good and eventually with everything you have in hand, you will be climbing the corporate ladder in no time.

What Coaching Centers Could Really Do

Each day, we strive to find the purpose of our lives and although we may fail to see what we are really on this earth for, we are not giving up until we find it. Not being able to find it right away could lead us to take a different path, far different than what was planned for us, and by taking this path, we can’t avoid making a lot of mistakes that end up making us frustrated, unhappy and useless.

We can keep asking ourselves the same question over and over again, what do I really want to do with my life? This is a dilemma that most of us are facing and having a hard time with. Feeling inadequate, people jump from one job to another and switch from partners to partners in the hope of finding happiness and contentment.  If you think you have done everything you can to better your life but you feel that you are not getting anywhere, then perhaps it is time to go to a coaching center.

Coaching centers offer a variety of service that could help you improve your life and reach your goals, starting from the different professionals called life coaches that can provide assistance in your career, your personal relationships, your diet, lifestyle, business and the many issues that have been preventing you to reach your dreams. They have clinical trainings and are experts in handling these issues and could provide a step by step process that will work for any individual.

They do not only provide assistance to let you reach your goals but they also encourage you to become better day by day and perhaps, find out the true meaning of your life. All of us have been through ups and downs and have encountered challenges that almost made us give up yet we are still here, we survived and still clueless on what to do next.

Challenges at school and at work are unavoidable because these two are the basic part of our lives that we need to undergo so a better understanding of what you want to become and what you want to happen to your career is very crucial. Knowing your interests and identifying your goals will help you achieve them. You need to have a thorough discussion with your coach about your life and what makes you happy so he could design a program or a strategy that is made especially for your needs.

Relationships are very challenging since this could sometimes make or break a person. A harmonious relationship at home, at school, and at work could provide the contentment you are looking for. Sometimes, knowing that you are safe, loved, trusted and respected is enough to make you a better person and achieve your goals in life. A life coach could help you achieve this and provide you steps you can take to keep a good relationship with the people you are with everyday.

We took so many wrong paths and made unwise decisions without thinking about the consequences, and end up being unhappy with our lives.  This is why planning your life is very important. Knowing your priorities and goals will give a new meaning and direction to your life and this includes your personal relationships and your career.

If you are not comfortable in making your own decisions in planning your life then you would probably need a life coach to help you organize your tasks and plans. He will make you understand your purpose and your goals to become the best version of yourself in all aspects.

1. Your life coach will help you know yourself – you need to know what you really want to accomplish, because if you don’t have a clue on what to do yet, then you won’t have any way of knowing whether you are on the right track or just stuck or prolonging that stage of your life. You need to undergo a personal assessment or take a day a few days off to reflect and get a clearer picture of your dreams.

2. Identify your goals –
after reflecting, you can start writing a list of your short-term and long term goals and a time frame for each to push yourself in achieving them. You could have a short-term goal to finish a new course and then a long term-goal to establish your own company and expanding in the future. Remember that if you don’t have a clear plan of your future, you will just end up changing jobs over the years and get stuck without progress.

3.  Find the right path – when you are not yet ready to set up a long term goal because you are just starting your career, you should already identify your areas of interest and focus on them.  Your area of interest can offer different career options and that is why you need to have a better understanding about these things so you will know what you are willing to pursue in the long run.

4. Turn your dreams into a reality – And since you have already identified your interests and after making a long term and short term goal, it is time for you to start making an effective strategy to help you achieve these goals. If you want to become a well-acclaimed Chef in the world, you should start taking up more cooking courses and practice whenever you can. And when you are ready to show the world your capabilities, then you will find out if everything was really worth it.

How to plan your career

The most important thing one must realize in planning his career is knowing himself first. You need to undergo the process of knowing who you are, what you can do and what you can exceed by studying your different career choices, making intelligent decisions, identifying your strengths and limitations and establish a reputation while working on your interpersonal skills.

You also need to understand that people change and their choices change from time to time too and this is what complicates your plans. People make mistakes and you can bet that you may make mistakes at times but then,  you will learn from it and it will eventually become your basis on what you need to do next.   Planning your career can’t be done overnight but rather, it is a lifetime ongoing process whether you are employed or not. Being a professional in your own right doesn’t mean you can’t change careers and not be successful at it.

Taking time to know who you really are can help determine success in your career. Discovering your skills, passion, your personality, your values and influences can create a clear picture of where you are headed and will give you a better chance in creating a satisfying career.

Making wise decisions can be really hard but by clarifying your decision difficulties, you can bet to create a simple solution to this problem. You need to write down a progressive step-by-step plan of action in creating a goal and spend time to clarify them and thus creating a deadline to this decision as well. Allow your principles and values in life to influence and guide your decisions because nobody knows you better than yourself. No matter what you choose to do, always do the right thing.

Life is a continuous and ever-changing journey towards the unknown path of your future.  And by identifying your strengths and limitations, you get to speed up your decision in planning your career. They say that we can’t  limit ourselves to progress and change but we have to be realistic in this aspect of our life because we can’t afford to make too many mistakes and be back to square one every now and then.

Establishing a good reputation is not easy especially when all eyes are on you. But the key to this is your interpersonal skills, being good at it and being good to everyone around you. People will always have something to say but once you just do your job well, treat others with kindness and respect, you will earn a reputation that can last a lifetime. It is something that you can’t buy. If people don’t trust you, you won’t stand a chance to an advacement in your career. So, you better start early and work it.

Now is the perfect time to plan your career. Take time to breathe and start reflecting. Remember, you are responsible for who you are today and tomorrow.
